  • It's JUNE and NEW THINGS

What in the world? How is June already? The good thing is that the weather hasn't gotten too hot. I'm hoping for some weather like this in June. There I go, talking about weather....

One thing that disappoints me about life is that I want to write but yet I get way too easily distracted that I end up doing a million other things before I get the chance to sit down and write. I blame my awesome MACbook for this though because I've never had such a fast and efficient computer. Good but BAD at the same time. I think one of the problems I often have is that I can't do nothing.

The other day I remembered I don't like hanging out. Well, it's okay, but I much rather be doing something with people. Eating counts, but sometimes it's not productive enough for me. Really eating only takes about 10 minutes and when you hang out over a meal you spend about 80 minutes talking or just sitting. I like running with people because we're doing something and I guess my best friends are often roomies, sisters, and people who just are living alongside doing their thing and me doing mine but yet we chat along the way...if that makes any sense.

I remember hearing from somewhere that you should do something new everyday. Well, I think I'm getting pretty good. This week, I had lunch and ordered wine (usually I just sip other people's). I'm not sure if it really was that good or if it just made me feel cool doing something sophisticated. Then I went with some oldie friends to a bar. Oh wait and the bar was on U-street so that's two new things mixed into one. And then, last weekend, I went for it and got my eyebrows threaded. Definitely not things that I typically do, but you know, trying new things is quite fun and I think it keeps us from being set in our ways. PLus you can do new things anywhere. Today I wore jeans to work. okay, jk, we were allowed to=).

  • writing papers

The best way to know that you're being productive when writing a paper is when you won't even let yourself get up to go to the bathroom. The ideas are flowing baby and my fingers can type like lightnin. I'm definitely getting near the crazy hours. By tomorrow 7pm, I'll be free for the summer=) yoohoo!

  • This day

Spent 5 hours working this morning on a group project! Just two more paper/exam to go and I am making fine progress. The excitement in the day lies in that my dad was name ALUMNI of the YEAR at the graduation at Washington Bible College. Who knew?? Guess I'm just surrounded by some pretty big and influential people aren't I? I know my dad speaks at hearings for the county sometimes and that awhole lotta people from our church go to WBC, so who knows what else he has done. After all, I never got to skip school for take your daughter to work day. From my dad, I've gotten two things, an inheritance of true intelligence and bad vision. TRUDAT!

  • Miss California

Can I just say that although liberals say that you need to have an open mind and tolerant they are such hypocrites? The story of how Miss California almost had her title taken away really is a fitting example. Okay yes, I voted Obama and I don't believe you should hate on people just because they don't follow Christian ways or are gay or don't go to church, but why does it seem like being open means only being open to things that a nonChristian. Classic example is how you can't pray at school or have a bible, but yet, you probably could be satanic or atheist, etc. No wonder why our kids are never going to follow God. They're not even allowed to in school So back to the story, I'm thinking it's kind of obvious that Miss California wouldn't have been voted Miss USA even if they liked her previous to her answering that question. Basically they even said it in the BBC article that because she said she was against gay marriage, she lost her chance of winning... uhhh okay, is that fair? Then to add to that Donald Trump was going to take away her crown of Miss California? What's my conclusion? Uh hello, can we say people hate Christians? At least they hate the ones that stand up for the bible. And what is a Christian who stands scared and unafraid? We're lukewarm then, that's what we are. I give props to Miss. California. Two things she has the guts to do, walk in a bikini on stage in front of thousands of people IN HEELs and stand up for something she believes though she knows it could cost her.

  • Read Purpose Drive Life - WorldView what is it? that someone sent me this morning about how our worldview determines much of our action and drives our behavior. What Warren says though is that our worldview is often skewed and filled with lies from the world. Hmmmm....

On a side note, is it just me or does RIck Warren look like he's some master chef?? Gourmet!!
